SHILLONG, Oct 31: The Congress party which is making serious efforts to revive itself in Meghalaya got another shot in the arm after two-time former GHADC MDC of the NPP, Brilliant R. Sangma, joined the party on Thursday.
Welcoming Sangma into the party, MPCC working president Deborah C. Marak asserted that state leaders who wish to fight against corruption are steadily moving to the Congress camp.
“We are expecting many more leaders to join or return to the party,” the former MLA added.
She pointed out that many leaders of the state are fed up of the ruling National People’s Party and its mis-governance and are joining the Congress to bolster their fight against corruption in Meghalaya.
