NONGPOH, Nov 15: Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui has argued that education should not be confined within the four walls of a classroom.
Addressing a gathering as the chief guest at the valedictory programme of the week-long ‘Balawanian’s Week Celebration’ at Balawan College, Umsning, the education minister stressed the importance of nurturing critical thinking, creativity and real-world exposure as essential components of quality education.
Highlighting the achievements of the state government, he noted that several progressive initiatives have been undertaken to uplift the education sector and the overall development of the state.
Rymbui also praised the college management for providing a platform that encourages unity, creativity and holistic growth among students.
The annual celebration, held under the theme ‘Rising with Vision’, featured a series of cultural performances, including songs, dances and various competitions that showcased the talents of the students.
The event was also attended by Parish Priest of Umsning Parish Fr Pisus Shadap, college principal J. Kurbah, faculty members and students.
On the occasion, Pdianghun Mukhim was crowned Miss Balawan College, while Augfrintin Kharlakhar won the title of Mr Balawan College.
