Raipur, Dec 2: Indian veteran Rohit Sharma is on the cusp of entering an elite group of batters — needing just 41 more runs to breach the 20,000-run barrier across all international formats.
As of now, Rohit has amassed 19,959 runs in 503 international appearances, including 4,301 in Tests, 11,427 in ODIs and 4,231 in T20Is.
If he crosses the mark in the upcoming second ODI against South Africa national cricket team at Raipur, he will become only the fourth Indian batter — after Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and Rahul Dravid — to ever reach 20,000 international runs.
Rohit’s tally reflects not just longevity, but sustained excellence — 50 centuries and 110 half-centuries across formats testify to his consistency and skill.
As India take the field once more, all eyes will be on the skipper. Should he navigate through just a small patch of time at the crease, Rohit Sharma will achieve a milestone that cements his place among the greats of Indian cricket. (Agencies)
