Shillong, Dec 14: The All Meghalaya Karate Do Association has announced a 15-member squad that will represent the state at the 69th School Games Federation of India (SGFI) Under-14 Karate Championship, scheduled to be held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, from December 14 to 19, 2025.
The Meghalaya contingent will be led by Donboklang Lyngdoh, Mingson Rymbai, Barisha Kharbani and Sharai Nongneng Shanpru, and will compete across a wide range of weight categories in the kumite events.
In the girls’ section, Gapesa Mon-I Sten will contest the -24 kg category, while Nika-La-Ai-Me Shadap (-30 kg), Fellysha Nongsiej (-34 kg), Tatiana Nongsiej (-38 kg), Aasthika Pradhan (-42 kg), Hinam Kiman Lamin (-46 kg), Adella Nongrum (-50 kg) and Ibalatyngkai L. Nongkynrih (+50 kg) will also be in action.
The boys’ team includes Dakitdorbha L. Chyne in the -30 kg category, Savio B. Majaw (-35 kg), Jovial Kharjana (-40 kg), Fadrik Wanniang (-45 kg), Aibor Jyrwa (-50 kg), Precious Stone Mukhim (-55 kg) and Medonlang Nongkynrih in the +60 kg division.
The Association expressed its appreciation to the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya, for extending financial assistance to enable the team’s participation at the national-level championship.All Meghalaya Karate Do Association expressed confidence that the team will put up a strong showing and uphold the state’s reputation.
