Solidarity

The Meghalaya Power Workers’ Union (MPWU) has expressed its solidarity with the nationwide protest call given by the Electricity Employees’ Federation of India (EEFI), NCCOEEE, the Joint Platform of Central Trade Unions and Samyukta Kisan Morcha against the proposed Private/SHANTI (Nuclear) Bill and the Draft Electricity (Amendment) Bill, 2025. In a statement, the union said it “fully supports the united trade union movement opposing the hasty passage of legislations that threaten public safety, national interest and the rights of electricity workers.”
