SHILLONG, Jan 5: The Meghalaya Revival and Healing Festival, described by the organisers as a divine movement marked by healing, renewal and spiritual transformation, is set to begin on January 27 at Dieng Jabini Ground, opposite Kurkalang Stadium along NH-30 in Bhoirymbong.
The four day festival organised by the Gatekeepers (Meghalaya Chapter) follows a similar revival and healing event held in Dimapur, Nagaland, in December last year, which witnessed a massive public turnout.
The festival is a public spiritual gathering centred on prayer, moral renewal, inner healing, peace-building, and the promotion of social harmony. The event seeks to encourage values such as compassion, forgiveness, ethical living, unity, and concern for the wellbeing of society.
The programme will be led by Apostle Ankit Sajwan, along with Christian leaders and speakers from within Meghalaya and other parts of India. Sessions will focus on prayer for families, young people, community wellbeing, leadership, and peace in society.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Meghalaya Revival & Healing Festival (MRHF) convener Pastor Crosslin Marbaniang said the decision to host the festival in Meghalaya was announced during the Dimapur event. According to him, Apostle Ankit Sajwan had declared at the Nagaland healing festival that the next edition would be organised in Meghalaya.
Pastor Marbaniang expressed optimism over a large attendance, stating that the organisers are expecting a response similar to that in Dimapur. “We are expecting the same response as in Dimapur, where over two lakh people attended on the final day of the festival,” he said.
The festival is intended to be peaceful, non-political, and open to the public. All activities will be conducted with due respect for Meghalaya’s cultural diversity and social fabric. Participation is expected from different parts of Meghalaya as well as neighbouring regions.
