Mawkyrwat, Jan 18: A 22-year-old youth with disabilities from Rangmaw village, near Mawkyrwat in South West Khasi Hills, who went missing from his house since January 13, was found dead from a place near the village on Saturday.
Police sources informed that the body of the 22-year-old, identified as Khlainkupar Nongsiej, was recovered from a place near the river in Rangmaw village and was subsequently brought to Mawkyrwat Police Station.
It was informed that the youth left his residence on January 13 at around 11:30 a.m. and did not return. Concerned family members and villagers conducted a search in and around the village, including nearby areas and the Umngi River, but no information about his whereabouts was found.
