SHILLONG, March 18: A fire broke out at a garage near the State Bank of India (SBI) branch at Lai Mer, Upper Shillong, at around 8.30 pm on Wednesday.
Preliminary inquiry suggests that the fire was triggered by the explosion of a welding cylinder inside the garage. The flames quickly spread to a nearby tea stall, damaging the same. No casualty or injury was reported in the incident, although details are yet to be ascertained.
