The Delhi Police leveraged veteran actor Rakesh Bedi’s iconic “Jameel Jamali” character from the 2025 Dhurandhar film duology to promote road safety with a humorous twist.
Sharing a cartoon-style poster on Instagram and X, the campaign featured Jamali holding a black motorcycle helmet, accompanied by the text: “Bachcha hai tu mera, ye le helmet pehan,” and captioned: “Helmet Pehnega Tabhi Syana banega Mera bachcha.”
Jamali, a manipulative and cunning Pakistani politician from Karachi’s Lyari who doubles as an Indian intelligence asset, has become a fan-favourite for his witty and fox-like persona. Dhurandhar and its sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, follow an undercover Indian agent navigating Karachi’s criminal syndicates and Pakistani politics while tackling major threats.
Rakesh Bedi, a prolific actor since the 1970s, is also celebrated for his comic roles in films like Chashme Buddoor and TV shows such as Yes Boss and Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi. (IANS)
