As excitement builds around Def Leppard’s upcoming India tour this March, BookMyShow Live has unveiled a line-up of Indian rock bands that will open the shows in Shillong, Mumbai and Bengaluru, bringing domestic acts onto the same stage as the British rock legends.
According to the organisers, Trance Effect will open the Shillong leg, Indus Creed will perform in Mumbai, and Thermal And A Quarter will take the stage in Bengaluru, setting the momentum ahead of Def Leppard’s performances in each city.
The tour is scheduled to begin on March 25 at the RBDSA Sports Complex in Shillong, where Trance Effect—known for their high-energy stage presence and a fusion of hard rock with contemporary elements—will kick off the evening in what is widely regarded as India’s rock capital.
In Mumbai, the March 27 concert at Jio World Garden will feature Indus Creed as the opening act. The band, which rose to prominence in the late 1980s, is often credited with playing a key role in shaping India’s rock music landscape and continues to be regarded as one of the country’s most influential groups.
The tour will conclude in Bengaluru on March 29 at NICE Grounds, with Thermal And A Quarter opening the show. The Bengaluru-based band is known for blending alternative rock with jazz, funk and soul, and has sustained a strong following over more than two decades.
Organisers stated that featuring Indian bands as opening acts is part of a broader effort to showcase local talent alongside international performers, offering them exposure to large audiences while contributing to the growth of India’s live music ecosystem.
Def Leppard, which has sold over 110 million albums worldwide, remains one of the most prominent names in global rock. The band—comprising Joe Elliott, Phil Collen, Rick Savage, Vivian Campbell and Rick Allen—continues to attract large audiences worldwide, with recent tours and releases reinforcing its status as a major live act.
