Canopy, railings to be installed along Laitumkhrah footpaths

SHILLONG, March 30: The state government plans to install a covered canopy and hand railings over existing footpaths along Laitumkhrah Main Road to improve pedestrian safety and convenience.
The Public Works Department (PWD) has invited tenders from registered Class-I contractors for the project, which is estimated to cost Rs 2.98 crore.
The work involves constructing a covered shed with roofing and safety railings over the current footpath stretch.
The project is slated for completion within 18 months from the date the final work order is issued.
