CM discusses governance, devp issues with Jaintia village heads

SHILLONG, April 4: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Saturday held a meeting with the Wahehchnong (village heads) from Jaintia Hills to deliberate on critical governance and development issues.
Discussions focused on border-related matters affecting local communities and proposed amendments to Rules 8 and 128 of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) to strengthen administrative processes.
The chief minister also addressed the clearance of pending liabilities under the MGNREGA before the state transitions to the Viksit Bharat-G-RAM-G scheme to ensure accountability and smooth implementation.
In a separate session, the chief minister met with party leaders and workers from Jaintia Hills to review a range of developmental, social and political matters.
Key concerns discussed during the meeting included the welfare of teachers, provident fund issues and challenges faced by the farming community.
