Conrad felicitates SSLC achievers from childcare homes, pledges support for their higher studies

SHILLONG, April 11: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Saturday felicitated 41 children from various childcare institutions in the Khasi and Jaintia Hills who successfully cleared the SSLC 2026 examinations.
Addressing the felicitation programme organised by the Social Welfare department, the chief minister lauded the students’ resilience and hard work.
“Today, all of you have proven that you are worthy of being here and that you have risen above the challenges and difficulties that you have faced,” he said.
He urged the meritorious students to continue their pursuit of excellence with determination and perseverance.
In a significant move to support their academic future, the chief minister also announced that the higher secondary education of all 41 children would be fully supported by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
This commitment is in addition to the cash awards presented during the ceremony.
The programme was also attended by Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui and senior officials from the Social Welfare department.
