ANTF nabs 4 for drug trafficking

SHILLONG, April 23: The Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) on Wednesday night apprehended four individuals allegedly involved in drug trafficking during a planned operation at Lower Lumparing. The accused have been identified as MD Roshan Ali (26), Safi Ali (30), Ajay Singh (20), and Suraj Masih (27).
According to police, the operation was launched based on credible intelligence inputs. Acting on the information, ANTF personnel set up surveillance and laid a trap in the Lum Mawnei area, leading to the arrest of the suspects without any resistance.
A search conducted at the spot led to the seizure of three soap cases containing suspected heroin, with a total weight of approximately 32.12 grams. Initial findings indicate that the arrested individuals hail from different parts of the city, including Malki, Nongmensong, and Lum Survey.
Police said further investigation is underway to trace the origin of the seized contraband and to uncover any larger network connected to the accused.
