TURA, April 28: The ‘A’chik Rhythm’ a popular You Tube channel in the Garo language has landed in trouble for allegedly dramatizing a Garo novel without authorization and running it for public view.

The local channel aired a dramatization of a Garo novel ‘Gamseng’ authored by Icylian R Marak, who has now accused the channel of using her novel for its own gain.

“The novel “Gamseng” is protected by copyright in the author’s name. Dramatizing and uploading it illegally without her knowledge or any permission whatsoever on social media is a serious breach of the law regarding copyright and intellectual property rights. This act of unauthorized appropriation, intellectual theft, and plagiarism shall not be tolerated,” Marak said, in a release.
