Conrad reviews proposed tourism projects in state

SHILLONG, May 7: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday met the Tourism department to review proposed glamping projects designed to promote high-end tourism in Meghalaya.
The chief minister stated that these initiatives will provide sustainable travel experiences and strengthen Meghalaya’s position as a destination for luxury and eco-friendly tourism. Department officials also discussed potential locations and strategies to ensure the projects align with environmental conservation and community involvement.
Separately, the Chief Minister met Australian High Commissioner to India Philip Green in Shillong. The two discussed opportunities for increased engagement between Australia and Meghalaya, specifically regarding water management, sports, and indigenous cultural exchange.
