Actor Manoj Bajpayee believes younger audiences should watch his upcoming film Governor to understand a pivotal period in India’s economic history. Speaking during the film’s promotions, Bajpayee said Gen Z should know how the economic reforms of the early 1990s shaped modern India and created opportunities that people enjoy today. The film is reportedly inspired by S. Venkitaramanan, who served as RBI Governor during India’s 1991 economic crisis. Bajpayee said the movie depicts a time before malls, soft drinks and widespread television broadcasts, making it an educational experience for younger viewers. The actor also revealed that he extensively researched economic concepts and prepared thoroughly for the role.
