A biopic on country music icon Shania Twain is reportedly in development.
Titled Shania, the film will chronicle the singer’s journey from her early life in Canada to becoming one of the most successful country music stars in the world.
According to reports, the project will be written and directed by Leah M McKendrick, with Twain and Amie Karp serving as producers.
McKendrick, known for directing Scrambled and the upcoming Netflix film Voicemails for Isabelle, expressed excitement about bringing Twain’s inspiring story to the screen, calling it a “dream come true.”
While plot details remain under wraps, the biopic is expected to focus on Twain’s rise to fame in the 1990s and her impact on country music through hits such as Man! I Feel Like a Woman!, That Don’t Impress Me Much, and You’re Still the One.
Meanwhile, Twain is preparing to release her seventh studio album, Little Miss Twain, on July 24.
The singer said the album reflects her childhood experiences and celebrates her journey as she approaches her 60th birthday. (ANI)
