Vehicles move at a snails pace in the city on Tuesday. Heavy rush in commercial areas has caused massive traffic snarls in the city in the last two days. The situation was particularly grim on Monday when vehicles were seen stranded on the city roads for long hours. The situation was such that even two wheelers were seen stuck in jams. East Khasi Hills SP, M Kharkrang said that police are expecting a similar situation on Wednesday with many people expected to visit Khyndailad and other commercial centres for Christmas shopping. Kharkrang added that the available parking places have also reached a saturation point. (ST)
