New DGP to take charge on Feb 5

SHILLONG: Senior IPS office Rajiv Mehta who has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Meghalaya will take charge on February 5, sources informed on Friday.
Mehta, an IPS officer from the 1981 batch of Assam-Meghalaya cadre, is currently serving as Director General of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
SK Jain is currently discharging duties as the acting DGP.
Mehta was appointed as the new DGP after PJP Hanaman went on superannuation on December 31.
