SHILLONG: The ruling coalition in the KHADC – ARPA– has welcomed the decision of Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi to issue directive to the State Government to re-examine its decision on imposition of Administrator’s Rule in the Council.
“The Governor has taken the right decision in view of the changing political scenario in the KHADC. We expect that the decision will be in our favour since he (Governor) had given a patient hearing to us when we met him to present our case,” the ARPA chairman Metbah Lyngdoh stated on Thursday.
Stating that the coalition would be keeping a close on the development, he asserted the situation did not warrant imposition of Administrator’s Rule.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Governor returned the file with the suggestion asking the Government to re-examine the decision.
According to sources, he (Tripathi) made this suggestion taking into account the resignation of Adelbert Nongrum as the CEM. A copy of the resignation letter was also submitted to the Governor.
