SHILLONG: KHADC Deputy CEM P.T. Sawkmie on Wednesday asserted that the only mean to alleviate the Council’s current financial instability was through the provisions of Article 275.
He made the observation while replying to a query by HSPDP’s Morningstar Mawsor on the development schemes under the 13th Finance Commission and added that he was awaiting communication from the Government for the remaining grant of Rs.15 crore.
Meanwhile, Grace Kharpuri, EM in charge of Forests, informed that the re-establishment of rubber plantations was underway in Aradonga and Nunmati. She added that the plantation would yield dividends in five years’ time.
Replying to a zero hour notice moved by UDP’s Roma Khymdeit on the status of Agrovet Private Limited regarding construction of a poultry farm at Mawthei village in Ri Bhoi, EM in charge Trade, James Sylliang, said he had not received any application for issue of trading license.
