Workshop
A one-day workshop on Jal Kranti Abhiyan organized by the Meghalaya Water Development Agency, Department of Water Resources Meghalaya in association with Central Soil & Materials Research Station, New Delhi, was held on Tuesday at Mendipathar. The highlights of the day included the technical session, Quiz competition, an interactive session for farmers, water race for school students and distribution of prizes to the winners.
Bills cleared
The East Khasi Hills District Police has informed the owners of requisitioned vehicles that the bills for the period April 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013 have been cleared for payment. The concerned owners of requisitioned vehicles have been asked to collect the payment from the office of the SP, East Khasi Hills, Shillong, during office hours.

Inauguration
Rambrai Jyrngam MLA K.P. Pangniang inaugurated a RCC bridge at Thlongblei Domshohksoin on Monday. The bridge costing Rs.5 lakh was constructed under the CRRP scheme 2013-14 by the Domshohksoin Area Development Committee.

Dry day
The District Magistrate, West Jaintia Hills District, has declared Dry Day on December 25 & 26 on account of Christmas and on January 1 on account of New Year Day in the entire district. All IMFL licensed premises, wholesale and retail sale, bars, canteens, country spirit shops including out stills shall remained closed on the above mentioned dates.
