Accidents on the rise in city

SHILLONG: Road accidents are on the rise in the city mostly due to reckless driving coupled with narrow roads.  As per the daily crime update of Meghalaya police, large number of road accidents has been reported in East Khasi Hills District.
According to the data, on April 10 at around 9.30 am, a Maruti van (ML-05M-5437) driven by one Chrestrian K Mawphlang dashed against a roadside guard-wall at Mawkasiang village under Mawdiangdiang.
In the incident, the rider who sustained injuries was removed to Woodland Hospital, Shillong.
In another incident on the same day, a scooty (ML-05J-9499) driven by one Daphne Laloo (43) dashed against roadside guard-wall near NEEPCO Office, Shillong.
The woman who sustained injuries was removed to Woodland Hospital.
On the same day, another scooty (ML-05K-8171) ridden by one Elves Syiemlieh (24) knocked down one minor girl Anjalee Rai (11) at Lawmali. The victim sustained minor injuries.
Earlier on April 9, one Maruti Celerio car (ML-05H-9326) driven by Albert Kharnaior (43) knocked down one Ganesh Vishwakarma (40) at MES Junction, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
