Petrol pump staff abducted

SHILLONG: Two employees of a petrol pump in South Garo Hills working for Parliamentary Secretary Rophul Marak were abducted by unknown miscreants on Wednesday afternoon.
The manager of the petrol pump, identified as Sunil Kumar Roy from Rajasthan, and another employee, Rohit Kumar Sharma from Bihar, were kidnapped from Rongkandi in Nongalbibra in South Garo Hills. The fuel station belonged to the Rongara-Siju MLA.
When contacted, South Garo Hills SP Anand Mishra said the abduction was not reported to the police.
South Garo Hills police suspect that the abduction might have been committed by small-time groups. Search operations are on.
