SHILLONG: Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal has hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his demonetisation move.
Sonowal, who was attending the Dikshant parade of the 42nd Basic Course of NEPA here on Wednesday, said people want a corruption-free society and that the Centre’s move would help in ensuring that.
“The Union government’s move to go cashless will help the society at large. People’s hard-earned money will remain secured,” he added.
On the development of the northeastern region, Sonowal said Modi “is giving opportunities to the region for development and that it should utilise them”.
