Miracle Choir to take part in Colors reality show mega audition

SHILLONG: ‘The Miracle Choir’, a 22-member choir group comprising of students from Meghalaya has been selected to participate in mega audition of Colors channel’s reality show, ‘Rising Star’ to be held in Mumbai early next year.
The choir covers traditional folk music and modern melody. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, All Meghalaya Dancers Association (AMDA) president Kit Thabah said, “The total expenditure for the trip to Mumbai comes to around Rs. 9 lakh which includes transportation, food and lodging, costumes etc. We are yet to receive any financial aid from anyone.”
“We have decided to seek an appointment with Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on December 23, to discuss the matter,” he said.
Choir group leader Pynskemborlang Kharjarin urged NGOs, local representatives and others to provide financial assistance for the trip.
