SHILLONG: The North Eastern Council (NEC) secretariat is set to implement e-Office and preliminary work for this has began with March 2017 set as the target date.
E-Office is a digital workplace solution mission mode project under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) developed and implemented by National Informatics Centre (NIC) and it establishes a single product for reuse in the government based on the central secretariat manual of e-Office Procedure (CSMeOP).
The digitisation will enhance transparency, increased accountability, assured data security and data integrity. It will also transform the government work culture and ethics and promote innovation by releasing staff energy and time from unproductive procedures.
E-Office application covers various systems like file management, knowledge management, leave management, personnel information, management information, smart performance appraisal, property return information system management and so on.
To mark the occasion of this important step taken by NEC, Ram Muivah, Secretary of NEC, communicated with Jitendra Singh, Chairman of NEC, by sending a file through e-Office application on Friday.
