Rs 52 lakh sanctioned for blacktopping of Umsning road

NONGPOH: People of Umsning constituency may finally be relieved of the misery caused by dilapidated roads as the State Government has sanctioned a project to repair GS Road connecting CHC Umsning and Umsning Proper B village.
The blacktopping project sanctioned under the SPF scheme will cost Rs 52 lakh.
Local MLA Celestine Lyngdoh, PWD official R. Kharkongor and village leaders of Umsning Proper A and B villages carried out spot inspection on Tuesday.
The MLA said under the SPF scheme, the government has sanctioned Rs 4 crore for blacktopping the stretch from GS road to Umsning Patarim village, GS road to Umsohlang village, Mawtari to Nongmawlong, Umdambli to Umsmu village, Umsning to Umsaitsning and GS road to Umget village, among others.
