TURA: In view of several Garo Hills organisations announcing night road blockade on March 14 and 15, West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Pravin Bakshi has imposed Section 144 of the CrPC in the district.
Under the order, assembly of five or more persons in public places at night, causing obstruction to movement of vehicles and carrying of sticks, stones, firearms or any kind of lethal weapons have been prohibited.  The order will come into force with immediate effect in the entire district. The blockade has been called in protest against the police firing in Resubelpara on March 6.
