Arunachal Assembly passes Budget unanimously

Itanagar: After two days of marathon discussions, Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Wednesday unanimously passed the annual Budget estimates for the year 2017-18 of Rs 16035 crore.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who is also in-charge of Finance Department has presented the Budget on March 10. The House has fixed March 14 and 15 for general discussion on budget. This year’s budget has a fiscal deficit of Rs 689.28 crore for the year 2017-18 with 2.83 per cent of Gross State Domestic Product and a revenue surplus of Rs 3435.41 Crores.
The Budget Estimates of 2017-18 has done away with the distinction of Plan and Non Plan and classifies the receipts and expenditure only in Capital and Revenue heads. (UNI)
