SHILLONG: The 5th International Leo Expo kicked off at the Malki Sports Ground in the city on Saturday and will continue till February 26.
After the overwhelming success of last year’s edition, the organisers have promised that this year’s expo will be bigger and better.
They have also made a point to make the visitors feel that ‘Consumer is King’ by offering a wide range of products from all over the country and abroad.
There are products from Egypt, Afghanistan, Thailand, Bangladesh and Turkey with attractive offers and discounts at the 15-day shopping gala.
Handmade Turkish Moroccan Hanging Mosaic Lamp, Egyptian papyrus and artefacts, Thai decorative items along with fashionable accessories, Bangladeshi melamine with appliqué bedspreads, dry fruits from Afghanistan are just a few products available at the International Leo Expo.
Lady luck will bless three visitors every day and a draw will be held on the basis of entry tickets. The gifts for the winners will include mobile cell phones, OTG and rice cookers. To promote the government’s demonetisation programme, the organiser of the event has encouraged cashless transaction and there are five swipe machines at the venue for shoppers’ convenience.
