NPP asks party members not to speculate on candidates

SHILLONG: The NPP has asked party workers and well wishers not to make hasty statements in the media speculating on the party’s candidates for the 2018 Assembly election in the State.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, NPP’s Meghalaya State Unit General Secretary (Organising), Charles Reuben Lyngdoh said, “Several reports have appeared in local dailies abiut persons intending to contest the upcoming Assembly elections in 2018 on NPP ticket. Party workers and well wishers are requested not to make hasty statements in the media (on the possible candidates) without first seeking the approval of W R Kharlukhi, the state president of the party.”
