Stress on technology breakthrough

KOHIMA:The Vice Chancellor of the Nagaland University Professor B K Konwar has said regions like the northeast and Nagaland in general needed a technological breakthrough.

Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of Engineering Students Union (SESU) second technical festival ‘TechAura, 2011’ under the theme- Embarking an era of technology at the School of Engineering, Technology and Management, Nagaland University, DC Court junction, Dimapur yesterday, Prof Konwar said there were many probable youths in the northeast who were yet to recognise their talent.

He urged the students to contribute and receive worldwide recognition through the right platform. He also asked the students to be prepared to learn and exchange ideas and said ‘TechAura, 2011’ was a right platform where students can enrich themselves and head towards their goal.

Lamenting over the limitations in facilities being provided by the University for the students, Professor B K Konwar said he would extend help in all possible ways.

The VC further urged the teaching faculty to be comprehensive and equally-equipped to go for collaborative and cooperative teaching towards building up the students and help them identify his/her potentialities.(UNI)
