U-15 football: Nongkrem make light work of Mawshbuit

SHILLONG: A dominant Nongkrem beat Mawshbuit 9-1 in the U-15 football tourney organized by the Shillong Sports Association at Ground III Polo on Thursday. Starting the proceedings on a dominant note, Nongkrem got the breakthrough as early as the 10th minute courtesy a goal from B Warkhyllem. However, Mawshbuit restored parity eight minutes later with B Marbaniang tapping one into the back of the net. Thereafter, D Mawlong doubled the lead for Nongkrem in the 29th minute while star of the match M Warbah struck four goals (36′, 56′, 59′ and 67′ minutes) to seal the tie for his team. Among others who scored were N Pyngrope (47′) and S Nongsteng (70′).
