Shillong 11th May: Shillong Lajong will meet Pune based I-League club, DSK Shivajians in the last group B of the Hero Federation Cup 2017 at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Fridat at 4PM. The match will broadcast live on Ten 2.
Thangboi Singto’s young brigade failed to register victories in their last two outings, going down by similar score line of 3-2 against Bengaluru FC and Mohun Bagan AC on 8th and 10th May respectively. So far, the goals for Lajong have come from Yuta Kinowaki who scored one goal each against BFC and Mohun Bagan while Samuel Lalmuanpuia netted one versus Bengaluru FC.
Meanwhile, DSK Shivajians lost their first game to Mohun Bagan by 4-0 on 8th May and emerged as the winners in their last game against Bengaluru FC on Wednesday by 2-0. Juan Quero scored a brace in the 71st and 76th minute of the match and they picked up their first three points from the Federation Cup Group B.
It was in Pune on April 8 when the two teams played each other the last time in an I-League match. Shillong Lajong emerged victorious after Redeem Tlang scored a goal in stoppage time to seal three points from the game.
As it currently stands, Mohun Bagan are at the top of Group B table with 6 points (GD +5), Bengaluru FC is on second with 3 points (GD -1), DSK Shivajians is on 3 points as well (GD -2) and Shillong Lajong is on zero points (GD -2).
Shillong Lajong will go all out and settle for nothing less than a victory in their final group B fixture on Friday. The match will be televised live on Ten 2.
