NONGPOH: Umroi MLA Ngaitlang Dhar has extended his support to Sosthenus Sohtun as a candidate from Jirang constituency for the 2018 elections.
Dhar recently attended a meeting convened by Sohtun in Byrnihat.
The Congress MLA said he would support Sohtun, who is a former president of RBYF, Byrnihat Circle.
Sohtun lost the last State Assembly poll as a candidate of the National People’s Party (NPP) from Jirang constituency.
Sohtun is yet to decide from which party he will be contesting but campaigning has already started in Jirang.
“Sohtun is a capable leader and can bring about a change in the constituency,” said Dhar adding that he had faith in Sohtun’s leadership capabilities.
Jirang is represented by Lamboklang Mylliem of North East Social Democratic Party.
