SHILLONG: In a U-turn, United Democratic Party (UDP) MDC H.S Shylla has said he would contest the 2018 Assembly elections.
Shylla told The Shillong Times on Wednesday that his supporters have constituted a committee which will decide which party he will contest from.
Last month, the UDP leader said he would not contest from Nongkrem next year for the unity of regional parties.
Asked about quitting UDP, he said the party leadership has already asked him to resign from the party.
Slamming the party, he said the presidents of both UDP and HSPDP have come to the understanding of the alliance since the position of both the presidents are shaky in their respective constituencies in the 2018 Assembly elections.
