SHILLONG: The anomalies in the tripartite agreement with former rebels of ANVC and ANVC-B will be rectified within three months, it was decided during a review meeting.
The agreement was reviewed in New Delhi on Wednesday in presence of members of the disbanded outfits, North East Secretary Satyendra Garg and representatives from major ministries like Commerce, Aviation, PWD and Health, and representatives from the State Government and the GHADC, said a statement issued by ANVC-B on Thursday.
The State Government claimed that 362 cadres from ANVC have got rehabilitation packages at Rs 1.5 lakh each whereas the list of selected ANVC-B cadres was not forwarded to the outfit’s former leaders.
The State representatives agreed to supply and share all documents, including the number of cadres who received the package, to both the organisations in a month.
The issue of variation in amount sanctioned to ANVCs and UALAs, who got Rs 2.5 lakh each, was also raised.
Deepan G. Momin, former secretary of ANVC-B, said there were so many anomalies in the implementation of the agreement and the State has been asked to rectify them within months.
“There was thorough discussion on the delay in rehabilitation to ANVC-B cadres that was assured to be looked by the State Government within a month forwarding all details of the process,” Momin said.
The developmental issues were discussed comprehensively and points were raised by former ANVC-B leader Bernard Marak on issues of land acquisition by the Centre and the State for roads and offices by various departments without following the Land Acquisition Act and consulting the A’king Nokmas.
The inclusion of Danakgre A’king and Rongkongre A’king in South West Garo Hills without consensus was also raised by him.
Demands were also made to upgrade the Dalu land custom station by including more items for import and export through Dalu and other ports in Garo Hills.
GSU president Tengsak Momin, who represented ANVC, said non-tribals should be excluded from the GHADC elections because the Council is meant for only indigenous tribals.
Besides, the need for speeding up the Baljek airport, upgradation of hospitals and government colleges and strengthening of tribal bodies were discussed.
The State was instructed to include the members of ANVC and ANVC-B in every decision and every committee formed as per the agreement so that there is transparency.
