SHILLONG: The All Meghalaya SSA School Teachers Association (AMSSASTA) has submitted a memorandum to the State Education and Literacy Minister demanding creation of Employees’ Provident Fund for SSA teachers.
In a statement issued on Monday, the association said the memorandum was recently submitted.
It has also demanded that disbursement of salaries through personal accounts should be uniform.
L. Marngar, president of AMSSASTA, said salaries will be routed through the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan-State Education Mission Authority Meghalaya (SSA-SEMAM).
Marngar added that a few districts have implemented the system but there are some teachers who are unaware of the new development.
