Tuki gifts sanction of funds on Chalo Loku

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki on Saturday said his government was fully alive to the problems of Tirap- Changlang districts of the state and assured that steps have been initiated at various stages to effectively address the pressing problems.

Disclosing this during Chalo-Loku festival of Noctes at Khonsa in insurgency-dominated Tirap district of the state, the chief minister further announced sanction of funds for the Namsang-Khela and the Khonsa-Bogapani-Jaipur roads, which were a long-felt demand of the common people of the district, official sources said.

He informed the gathering that survey on Trans-Arunachal-Highway has started and construction of the road project would begin shortly.

The Chief Minister also assured provision of more funds for Khonsa township roads besides assuring the people that the water supply project for the district headquarters would be taken up soon.

Speaking about his government’s priority areas, Mr Tuki said he would accord special attention to education, health and road connectivity and added his government would be transparent and people-friendly, sources said. On creating employment avenues for the youths of the district, Mr Tuki stated that the police recruitment rally for Tirap and Changlang districts would be held soon. Further commenting on the development of Tourism sector in the state, he said Arunachal Pradesh could be a tourists’ paradise and steps have been initiated to start work in this direction. Extending his warm greetings to the people on the festive occasion, the Chief Minister said festivals foster love, happiness and sense of unity among the people and added that Tirap district was traditionally rich.
