SHILLONG: Something was “boiling” in the Secretariat and it has nothing to do with political issues or societal turmoil but hot tea.
On Wednesday, when people ascended the stairs that led to the room of Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and other Ministers on the third floor, they could see water boiling on a gas burner. However, they were clueless on what was going on.
Later, it was learnt that it was a catering service from Pinewood Hotel that was using the stairs as kitchen.
When asked, some people feigned ignorance while others said that it was for the CM.
It may be mentioned that the chief minister met some officials of a department on Wednesday and later met some delegates of the Ri Bhoi Students’ Union.
