Workshop on financial inclusion held

SHILLONG: In continuation with the objective of taking financial inclusion to the interior areas, the Indian Chamber of Commerce, (ICC) in association with North Eastern Council, Ministry of DoNER, organised a workshop on Financial Inclusion on January 30 at Nongpoh, Ri Bhoi district.
Financial inclusion is the process of ensuring access to appropriate financial products and services needed by vulnerable groups such as weaker sections and low income groups at an affordable cost in a fair and transparent manner by mainstream institutional players. Speaking as the chief guest, C.P. Gotmare, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi district raised his remark towards the financial inclusion literacy among the rural areas.
