SHILLONG: Pynthorumkhrah MLA AL Hek, who was among the two BJP candidates to win, has been named as the leader of BJP’s legislature party.
This was confirmed in a tweet shared by Union Home Minister of State Kiren Rijiju. Hek won the election for the first time from Pynthorumkhrah constituency as a BJP candidate in 1998 but later joined the Congress. However, Hek returned to BJP as the 2018 election approached.
