Local holiday
The Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, General Administration (A) Department has informed that all state government offices and all revenue and magisterial courts and educational institutions in East Khasi Hills will remain closed on April 9 on account of ‘Shad Suk Mynsiem’.
Weak bridge
The Executive Engineer, PWD (Roads), Resubelpara Division has informed that the subway SPT bridge (37/3) at Resubelpara is weak and the maximum vehicle load allowed is 9 metric tonne.
Free class

Athletic meet
The office of the District Sports Officer, East Jaintia Hills District, will hold the District Level Interschool Athletic meet 2018 on April 25, 26, 27. The screening of the athletes will be on April 19 from 10 am and the last date of entry is April 16.
Condolence
Members of the Shillong Socio-cultural Assamese Students’ Union and Deepjyoti Socio-Environmental Society expressed their grief over the death of Uddhab Saikia on April 4 who was one of the eldest Assamese member in Shillong. They also offered condolence and prayers to the family of the deceased.
