GUWAHATI: Ambassador of European Union to India, Tomasz Kozlowski has revealed that European and Indian law enforcing agencies would meet in New Delhi next month to discuss ways to tackle radicalisation.

“The meeting on counter radicalisation as I understand will take place in May in New Delhi. The NIA will be in charge of the delegation from the Indian side,” Kozlowski, who is on a two-day visit to Assam since Monday, told reporters here on Tuesday.

“The EU has its own list of terrorists and terror entities that are updated every six months. We inform the Indian government on our action against these listed terror entities. If the Indian government has any information we are ready to take that into account as well,” the EU ambassador to India said.

Kozlowski also cited an example to highlight the  seriousness of EU in tackling terror.

“The Indian media were very excited when they came to know that the US had listed the Hizbul Mujahideen a year back. However, they discovered to their surprise that EU had listed the same terror outfit way back in 2004,” he said.

Asked about whether any such groups in the Northeast were listed, the EU ambassador said he was not in a position to recollect. “It’s a long list,” he said.
