Meghalaya govt waits for KHADC to finalise VAB

SHILLONG: The Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has said the state government will be waiting for the outcome of the finalization of the Village Administration Bill (VAB) by Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).

Sangma told reporters on Tuesday after the tripartite meeting of the government, KHADC and Synjuk ki Nongsynshar Shnong ka Bri U Hynniewtrep (SNSBH).

He said, “The KHADC is working on it and they will be coming out with certain points and once those are ready they will have a discussion with the government, we are waiting for that.”

It was on Monday that the KHADC’s chief executive minister (CEM) PN Syiem said the committee on VAB would call on the traditional heads and MDCs after the matter was discussed with the state government.
