‘Set up human rights court in every district’

SHILLONG: The All India Legal Aid Forum urged the central and every state government in the country to set up Human Rights Court in every district and sub-divisions for speedy disposal of human right violation cases.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, general secretary of the forum, Joydeep Mukherjee also requested the Supreme Court and the central government to take initiatives for setting up a circuit bench of the Supreme Court in the North Eastern region which will benefit the people.
Turning to the plight of the poor and the downtrodded, he said, “Poor people are not aware of constitutional rights and they also face financial problems.”
