SHILLONG: Congress MLA from East Shillong, Ampareen Lyngdoh is now contemplating to contest the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KH ADC) elections scheduled to be held next year.
Talking to media persons on Wednesday, Lyngdoh said she believed in the concept of ‘one person one post’ but there has been precedence in the state with KHADC CEM P.N Syiem holding onto his post of MLA.
“If there are no obstructions legally, I will be a candidate in the district council polls,” she added.
Currently, Neil Antonio War is the MDC of Laitumkhrah constituency. War, a Congress MDC, had deserted the party and joined BJP before the 2018 Assembly polls.
He, however, shifted allegiance to the UDP after losing the polls.
