BENGALURU: India A took a stranglehold over South Africa A scoring 411 for two in reply to visitors 246 in the first innings on the second day as hard hitting opener Mayank Agarwal scoring an unbeaten 220 on the second day of the four-day unofficial ‘Test’ match played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Sunday.
South Africa ‘A’, resuming at 246 for 8, were bundled out at the same score in just three balls as fast medium bowler Mohammad Siraj took two more wickets in just three balls in the morning to return with figures of 20.3-3-56-5. Replying to the moderate score by the visitors, India ‘A’ openers Parthiv Shah (136) and Mayank sent the Protea bowlers on a leather hunt as the home team amassed 411 losing just two wickets in 87 overs. Mayank, dubbed to be a opener in the likes of Virender Sehwag, was at his belligerent best hitting 31 boundaries and four towering sixes as he made South African A bowlers toil hard. (UNI)
